UPBEAT! Productions is an incorporated not for profit musical production company (charitable status pending), established to enable the presentation of superb live music affordably in the community. Dedicated to building connection through music, UPBEAT! Productions, under the artistic direction of Roland Graham, presents audiences in the Nation’s Capital with exciting performers, especially young and emerging artists from Canada and beyond, playing the music that fires their passion from across the genres, in two series, Concerts by the Canal and the Master Piano Recital Series.



Duo Kalysta

September 28 – 2018

DUO KALYSTA presents works for flute and harp inspired by nature and art along with the stories behind them. A blend of classics with works by Canadian and contemporary composers including R. Murray Schafer and Jocelyn Morlock


Sofya Gulyak

October 12 – 2018

Romantic musings, flamboyant, tender and dazzling, from Chopin to Prokofiev, with Leeds International Gold Medalist, Sofya Gulyak.


Pandora Topp

November 2 – 2018
Acclaimed cabaret singer Pandora Topp, “a rare and courageous talent” (Northern Life), pays tribute to the legendary Édith Piaf, breathing life into classic scores by Marguerite Monnot, Michel Emer, Norbert Glanzberg & more.


Jeanne Amièle

November 16 – 2018
CBC’s 2016 30-under-30 number one musician, Jeanne Amièle, plays classical, romantic and 20th century works exploring life’s existential journey.

Concerts by the Canal (CBTC), presents a varied line-up of classical, jazz and alternative musical genres by outstanding artists and ensembles from Ottawa and beyond. Discover hidden gems for classical flute and harp. Hear the glorious-tragic story of the legendary Édith Piaf. Relish virtuosic Gershwin arrangements for saxophone and guitar. Immerse yourself in the romantic world of song and opera. Delve into Beethoven’s works for violin and piano. Celebrate the arrival of summer 2019 with a performance of J. S. Bach’s six Brandenburg Concertos. CBTC offers an up-close-and-personal experience of world-class music like no other.

The Master Piano Recital Series is the region’s uniquely dedicated solo piano series. Hailed for “filling a necessary niche” (Citizen) in the city, the series brings the brightest classical piano talent from around the world to your home town. With past performers that include Charles Richard-Hamelin, Simone Dinnerstein, George Li, David Jalbert, Dang Thai Son and many more, the Master Piano Recital Series has established itself as an elite-level artistic offering in the city of Ottawa. The MPRS offers an up-close-and-personal experience or world-class pianism like no other.
